Women Empowered Netherlands was born from a simple observation: the challenges we face don't stop at the walls of our own companies. Neither should the solutions.
We started as a group of women from different organisations who wanted to share what was working, learn from each other's mistakes, and stop reinventing the wheel alone. What began as a conversation has grown into a cross-company community with a clear mission.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to create a supportive, inclusive community where women leading and contributing to ERGs across the Netherlands can share ideas, exchange lessons learned, and talk openly about the real challenges we face.
By coming together, we strengthen each other — and grow our impact not just within our own organisations, but across companies and communities.

We come from different companies and industries across the Netherlands, but this space is intentionally company-agnostic — created to foster connection, shared learning, and collective growth beyond any single organisation.

We may represent different companies, but this space belongs to none of them — and to all of us. We are company-agnostic by design. We’re here to connect, to learn from one another, and to share openly — without hierarchy, without competition, and without company politics.

The story of Women Empowered Netherlands began in mid-2025, when a small group of ERG leaders came together with a simple goal: to collaborate on something meaningful for International Women’s Day. What started as coordination meetings for a shared celebration gradually became something more.
On 6 March 2026, our joint International Women’s Day event came to life — the result of months of collaboration, shared ideas, and collective energy. But somewhere in between planning sessions and honest conversations, we realised something important: we didn’t just want to come together for one event. We wanted a space where we could regularly share our learnings, challenges, and ambitions as women building communities within our organisations.
So we chose to transcend the moment.
We are officially launching Women Empowered Netherlands on 9 April 2026. Our goal is for our community to span multiple companies, meet regularly in person, and be guided by a rotating steering committee of members — just like you.
